Old and comfortable, like a favorite chair, the Shamrock has been around longer than I have been alive. They were famous for their steaks and shrimp for the longest time. The old menu was meat and potatos and homemade apple pie. The portions were huge! Times have changed and so has the place and menu but you still get a feel for the history of this small corner of the West.

This is a family favorite restaurant when we are traveling through. Food was excellent. Service was not. Server forgot our bread, didn't check to see how our food was, didn't refill water glasses. Had to get up and go get our waitress to deliver our food cause it was in the window for 5 minutes getting cold. Just boils down to the server needing more training. Will go again next time because the food is excellent.

The food was great. The server was fairly inattentive though. Had to ask for basic things that most waiters would have recognized were not at the table. Ie. Silverware, ketchup, napkins, etc. Drink refills had to be asked for and an excessive wait time for the bill, etc. I've ate here years ago and the service was abnormally terrible on our June visit. I hope this isn't reflective of how things are presently run.

It's great to eat here while tagging along with a party bus of school teachers just recently released from their school-board duties. Salmon was amazing.

Last time I was there the waitress had no idea what was on the menu. She kept having to go ask someone else about it, but bragged about having worked there forever. my husbands steak was overcooked on the outside and blue and slightly frozen on the inside on the first one he ordered. When it was sent back, the cook yelled and threw the steak against the wall, cooked him another one and it came to him the SAME WAY. They offered to have it recooked again but my husband told the waitress he will just take it home and cook it the right way cuz that wont happen here. Its unfortunate because weve heard great things about this place and want to go back, but having 2 bad steaks come out, a waitress working on a Saturday night wasting our time having to ask simple questions about our questions like "are the poppers filled with cream cheese or cheddar?" Has made it very difficult to want to spend another $40 on food we have to cook ourselves.
